I trained in various martial arts, including BJJ, in my 10+ years of living in Japan (not military).
I grew to love Japanese-made dogi. The Japanese know a thing or two about martial arts uniforms...they created them.
Since moving back to the USA, I have had soooo many BJJ practitioners rant and rave about Origin USA.
I knew they couldn't touch a 100% double weave sashiko dogi made in Japan, so I never even considered trying Origin.
Then came the asinine Trump Tariffs....
I couldn't get my Japanese made dogis without paying a premium.
I decided to try Origin.
Not a fan. They really are trying too hard to be innovative. Continual improvement can be great, but just as in martial arts, the basics are usually the best.
The dogi was weirdly stretchy and infused with man-made fibers. The cut of the dogi is also not favorable, with a very short skirt portion.
Go to Japan and study premium made,100% cotton keidogis, Origin. You might learn something!
